Appearance:
Standing at the average height of six feet and a poultry one inch, Abel's frame doesn't exactly boast the most intimidating appearance. However, who's to say that doesn't play to the boy's advantage anyway? His slimline and athletic build can somewhat cope for his lacking height, providing some finely toned muscular structure to add some physical appeal to Abel's appearance outright. Abel's figure is slim and athletically trained despite his everyday appearance. None would believe his true athletic capabilities at first glance, given his thin and almost frail appearing body frame. However, his muscles have become so well toned that despite their appearance, Abel packs quite a bit of power behind that body of his. His skin is of a fair creme complexion and with much luck, his adolescent years have been fairly kind and have left Abel free, more or less, of natural blemishes or imperfections that so many before him have been plagued with.
Abel had come to inherit both his father's eye and hair color, forcing him to constantly hear the expression, "...the spitting image of his father.", since the moment he was able to comprehend such words. His eyes are of a uniquely sapphire-blue hue, a very light pigmentation of the normal blue iris. His eyes remain radiant and reflect his emotions just as they are felt, providing a very efficient window into Abel' feelings should the boy refuse to express them via other means. Abel's hair falls in a medium length of Honey-Golden trusses, wind swept bangs being sure to keep from hanging in his eyes, for as a Quincy, to block his eye sight would surely be one of Abel's very few downfalls.
As far as fashion sense goes, a bit eccentric in his outfits, Abel strays from all mainstream and 'popular' clothing styles, choosing rather to make up his own outfits aside from the required uniform of Karakura. His normal attire outside of school consists of various jackets, t-shirts, and ragged and worn jeans and pants, several combinations of his wardrobe exist, and he's hardly ever seen wearing the same outfit twice. A constancy for any outfit however, is the presence of a pair of Skull-emblazoned headphones that drape around his neck when not situated upon his head and ears.
Personality:
A quiet, and seemingly average boy at first glance, nothing extraordinary screams from Abel's presence in the very least. He roams Karakura's Halls of something like a ghost, not clinging to any one group of friends or individuals; a true loner. Being a foreigner to Karakura, many believe that it's because he is from such a far away place that it becomes far too difficult for him to form close bonds with those in Karakura. No matter the reason, Abel seems not to truly care for close companionship with others, despite his always friendly disposition towards others. However, as one delves deeper into the psyche of the elusive Quincy, many will find a boy of intense emotion and intellect. No movement is made without thought, every step calculated down to its very rhythm in Abel's methodical mind. In a life that could be brought to an end in an instant, nothing must be wasted. That, is Abel's creed. Gentle and quiet on the outside, that all remains as nothing more than a front to hide his true nature as an unrelenting hunter and Quincy warrior.
He speaks with a certain calm and coolness no matter his mood or situation. Provocation or slandering words seem to simply pass through the boy's ears, yielding no negative reaction in the form of verbal riposte. However, behind the brute force of Abel's Seele Schneider and behind the unrelenting waves of arrows he can send upon his enemies, one can truly feel the rage that such a boy can produce when none is wasted in words, but rather poured into raw power instead. Holding not a single qualm towards the obliteration of any enemy, some would say Abel was creepy, others would say he was simply void of all care for the lives of those who stand in his way.
Whilst in solitary confinement from the rest of the world, Abel reveals a side of himself that none but his late father has seen. The heart of a poet and musician beats inside of the Quincy's chest, expressing itself through the delicate strokes of piano keys and through the pencil strokes that scribble rhythms and rhymes into a close personal tablet book kept at Abel's side at all times. It was his father's motivation to incorporate a distraction from the life of a Quincy, less Abel be consumed by the urge to hunt and kill without pause, aptly ruining the young boy's life, just as it had done to his own father. Some claim to be able to hear the faint sounds of music when passing by the closed antique shop on some days, renditions of Bach and Liszt resonating from within.
Strengths:
A unique Quincy style not seen in many, Abel excels in the use of close range and melee combat tactics rather than the typical ranged methods of any standard Quincy. Focusing on swift and brutal strikes, Abel is man of efficiency, making every strike count towards the eventual defeat of his opponents. Agility and finesse are his main keys to success as he relies most heavily on his speed and footwork to weave his way into an opponent's blind-spot and tear them to shreds in a mere instant. However, being a Quincy Meister comes with the notion of being well versed in nearly all areas of the Quincy arts, and thus Abel retains elaborate knowledge of long ranged capabilities as well. However, not his strongest of points, Abel still remains highly capable of falling back on the use of his bow over that of the Seele Schneider, and still serve as a worthy opponent for damn near anyone.
Weaknesses:
Control. Even as a child, Abel had the hardest difficulty keeping his Spiritual abilities under wraps, making him an utter beacon for both spirits and hollows to seek out. However, now as a grown teenager, Abel has gained control over the flow of his spiritual energy but not the rate at which he expends it. In the heat of battle, Abel's and calculating mind can be consumed with the urge to eliminate the opponent, leading him to blindly expend all of his strength without proper thought or planning behind his attack. This occurs only in intensely heated confrontations against enemies Abel finds truly worthy to fight against.
Quincy Bow:
Nimbus [Halo]
Where Abel's expertise lie in Swordplay and the use of Seele Schneider, a Meister must be well versed in all aspects of Quincy arts, and thus must possess a weapon signature of the Quincy race, a bow. Within Abel's gloves are situated small Quincy Cross pendants that serve as the medium for his bow's origin. A bow completely unique to Abel, Nimbus takes an appearance that is far more different than many other Quincy bows. Where as many would be the simple arc-design, Abel's Nimbus takes the form of a full circumference of energy, aptly forming a Halo of spiritual energy around Abel's body that radiates with his own signature golden reishi. Utility is the pure definition of this bow, as it provides a 360 degree range of firing capability, only requiring Abel to guide his hands across the bow to the location he wishes to fire at will. Built entirely on moderation and balance, this weapon focuses neither on offense nor defense but possesses the ability to accomplish both at the same time.
Abilities:
Technique Name: Garandou Hirenkyaku [Flying Screen Void Step]
Category: Utility
Range: Long
Description:
A unique alteration of the original technique, Abel has perfected his use of the Hirenkyaku to incredible extents to match his own style of combat. Where the original closely mirrored that of a shinigami's Shunpo, this version of the technique now more closely resembles that of the Geremos Sonido shown by the Arrancar. With the rapid discharge of reishi into the feet and body, this technique nearly reaches speeds enough to break the ground beneath Abel's feet with the use of it. As with the Geremos Sonido, the Garandou Hirenkyaku moves Abel at such intense speeds that his silhouette is still left to scatter the light particles as his body had before it moved, leaving in the wake of the technique after-images of the Quincy as he draws his opponents into his attack. It's true speed is on par with any normal Geremos Sonido, but far surpasses that of a normal Shunpo without measure. However, because of such intense speeds put on a human body such as Abel's, repetitive use of this technique will only serve to break bones and over work the heart, leading to stroke or heart-attack if used without caution.
Technique Name: Zangyaku No Nagashi [Current of Brutality]
Category: Offensive
Range: Close
Description:[/u]
A fierce technique, forgoing defense completely to encase the user in a thin field of tearing energy. The current is characterized by a flowing red electricity that can be focused either along the user's body for a high cutting potential, one that would melt barriers in the 50's and cut higher ones over time, or instilled into the blade for the maximum cutting power the Quincy can achieve.
Technique Name: Ensho Hanagata [Heatwave Flourish]
Category: Offensive
Range: Mid
Description:[/u]
With a swift wave of their sword, a brief flicking motion that takes skillful precision, the user 'burns' a symbol seemingly midair in front of them. As soon as the symbol is complete, it will glow a brief, bright flash before the a wall of energy erupts from this glyph. The wall of heat is a blunt blast comparable to a grade seventy kidou with a concussive effect, used to paralyze them and cause great burn damage, and spans from three meters on either side of the user and five high. As it expels a great amount of energy in it's used, no other attack may directly succeed this.
Technique Name: Shouten [The Ascension]
Category: Defensive
Range: Short
Description:[/u]
A pulse of Reiryoku is ripped out from under the opponent's feet, a howling blast of energy that startles the opponent, mimicking the effect of overwhelming spiritual pressure. Not only does it exert this seizing force of power onto the opponent, but the Reiryoku from the ground below them also effects their balance, with enough force to lift them off of their feet, leaving them both stunned and momentarily at a loss for footing. This usually only effects an opponent within a five meter range, and the area of effect for it is only about a meter or two. The amount of energy it consumes is dependent on the scale of the technique, however. Obviously to lift an opponent higher would require much more reiryoku. Similarly, to widen the radius or lift multiple opponents/objects would also require much more, but those two scenarios would be rare, since the user stresses the conservation of their own stamina.
Quincy Equipment:
Kreuz [Crucifix]
Abel's signature weapon of choice, and that which is sealed within the cross that hangs around his neck. When giving order to release, the cross radiates with a golden light as two slender Seele Schneider form in either of Abel's hand. Aside from normal Seele Schneider, these blades radiate with that signature golden hue rather than the crystal blue energies that have become standard with most other Quincy warriors. Each blade measures in at a full length of four feet each including their hilts. Given their unique nature, these blades possess power that far surpass that of any normal Seele Schneider, their durability being doubled and with the reishi that flows through them, they burn with searing energies that add more so to their cutting power that dwarfs the normal Seele. Because they are also forged of highly concentrated spiritual particles and energy, these blades are on par even with a shinigami's Zanpakuto.
Seele Faden (Soul Thread)
Upon normal glance, the Seele Faden takes the appearance of standard steel razor wire. Hardly a few centimeters thick, the wire itself weighs next to nothing and is carried in wide ranges of feet within circular spools making carrying the Seele Faden quite easy without worry of it hindering movement much like bulky weapon would. Much like many of the other Quincy artifacts, the Seele Faden physically portrays no unique qualities about it. This however, only remains true to the extent of outer appearances. The true use of this Quincy tool is the implications of the unique spiritual properties it possesses. Much like a Quincy's Arrow or the Seele Schneider, when wielded, the Seele Faden will inherently gather spiritual particles upon its entire length. This quality thus makes this Quincy wire far more durable and resistant to breakage than it would physically portray to obtain. Able to withstand powerful blows from most blades and physical strikes, this wire will only break when a force equal to a grade 70+ Kidou is applied against it. Another highly unique trait quality of this wire is that it is able to channel and relay projected reishi along its surface, adding a more supplementary use to the Seele Faden other than being a very capable binding and trapping tool.
History:
Et Ducit Mundum Per Luce
"..And Lead the World by Light"
"..And Lead the World by Light"
A country torn asunder by a war started by tyrants and hatred, this was the newest breeding ground for a hollow infestation like none other. However, because of this, a presence of Hollow-hunters was like none other as well. Where the shinigami's influence failed to shield these foreign lands from infestation, the Quincy's iron will would not. As the bullets and bombs all stopped flying through the air, they would soon be replaced with the burning reishi of the Quincy arrows instead. Sure, the world was beginning to rebuild itself after the countless tragedies that the years of violence and bloodshed wrought, but Hueco Mundo's forces would not give rest in this time of fleeting peace. In the rubble-bound capital of this foreign land, a single clan of Quincy Knights stood against the most intense congregation of Hollow that sought to prey upon the already weakened human souls that remained intact from the subsiding battles. Cain Deiderich, "Grandfather Quincy", as all would come to know him was the very one that stood as the head of this clan, and would be the one to lead his family name to greatness. Soon, as the ash and rubble was wiped away, so was the overwhelming infestation of darkness that plagued the country, and once again a moment of fleeting peace; though just enough for a family to be raised.
Now as the elder Deiderich's age passed from adulthood to elderly, his son and heir to the Quincy name was next in line to spread his own Quincy influence on to the world. A new age was upon the world, technology absorbing the world, bringing foreign countries closer together than ever before, building a literal bridge between lands that shared the similar issues with the Hollow their kin, making the decision to move from one land to another quite easy on the adolescent Quincy boy. The newest generation of Deiderich set his sights to the west, to the land that once had been the arch enemy of his home country, but now the world laid in peace, and no longer held the animosity that was present just twenty years earlier in his father's time. Here, several Quincy hopefuls would be found and converted to the Deiderich cause of cleansing the western lands of the hollow infestations scattered all about. It was also here that he would meet a girl that would soon become a wife and the bearer of his own child as the years passed more and more into the future.
Soon, the torch would once again need to be passed to an heir, and to his father's pleasure, Abel Deiderich was brought into this world. However, despite the grandfather's decision to retire from his duties as a Quincy, the father would not follow suit. It was rare for the infant Abel to be in the presence of his father, for even though the world had become revolutionized once more, the unrelenting constancy of darkness still lingered, almost at an even more powerful presence than ever before as the sins of man increased still. To the mother's dismay, she would be left to raise the child on her own as best she could. The mere toddler Abel at the age of two had begun then to show his true potential as a Quincy prodigy, in his infant state he skill showed exuberant acknowledgment of his own spiritual energy and the presence of the spiritual beings that roamed the living world. This was a fact that the mother would grimace at, as she had not wanted the same life for her son as her husband had become consumed by. Still, she would care for the boy and mold his abilities to the best of her own.
However, on the eve of the boy's third birthday, it would be revealed that the Hollow possessed minds far more devious and intelligent than ever thought once before. In reaction the presence of a single Quincy intrusion to their efforts, Hollows come to invade the private home of the Quincy nuisance and take from him the lives and souls of those he loved. In the dead of midnight, the shadows lurked into the small home, shades of pure hatred that sought revenge on the one that vanquished so many like them before. Shrieks of horror erupted as they began their assault against the feeble Quincy woman, left alone by the father as he traveled the countryside in the aid of smaller towns. In a blind attempt to save her child, the mother cast her only Silver Tube in a concealment aura over the small Abel just as the shades would take her into the darkness; the shrieks then became silence in the dark. The morning would arrive, and as the father returned home from his flight overseas, his eyes would behold in horror his home destroyed, and the cold, lifeless body of his love sprawled across the floor. His attention soon broken by the whimpers and cries of his son in the distant room.
As the heartbreak set, the father would choose to finally abandon the duties that brought about the death of his beloved wife and set out for a new life for himself and his son in a land far across the sea, separated by the waters from all other lands. Here, their new life would begin, and the duties of the Quincy were cast aside once and for all. Years would pass, and the toddler would soon bleed into a growing boy. The first days of school in a foreign country, the attempt to learn a language not of his own bloodline were all the trails and travails that Abel would be forced to face. More so however, was his attempt to keep his now surging spiritual energies under control. The boy now lived with his father in a flat above their now family antique shop, a profession his father took in order to maintain a peaceful and carefree life in his growing age. It was in this shop that the father came under the possession of an antique Grand Piano, and though it could be easily sold, Abel's father chose otherwise and kept the worn instrument for himself. At the ripe age of ten was when Abel's first lessons in both music and the Quincy arts began.
His skills at such a young age were impeccable, his ability to produce and harness reishi at intense levels were unmatched even by his father at that time. Though it all remained raw power and needed careful refinery in order to become of use to the boy and no longer a dangerous lure for Hollow and the like that would rather devour such an intense spiritual signature. The years of growth and training would prove to mold Abel into a Quincy much like none other, a true prodigy of the arts that his father taught, the now elder father looked upon his son with proud eyes as both a Quincy and a father. Fours years had passed since those very first lessons, and Abel seemed to be more qualified as a Quincy Knight than even one twice his own age. It also seemed that as his powers as a Quincy developed, as did his skills as a piano player in suit.
High school would soon be starting, and as it seemed that their new life was just starting and coming to its best years, the old wounds of tragedy would reopen as the father's physical and mental condition would begin a downward spiral due to the effects of an unforeseen disease. Within a year, the father passed, and Abel was left alone in the world. The shop would pass into his hands and his all of his father's responsibilities came with it. Now this boy would have to juggle his life as a high school student, shop owner, as well as a blossoming Quincy Knight. Beyond the shop and the small amount of money his father passed on, an item far more valuable was inherited by the son. A Quincy bangle cross forged from the very first Deiderich Quincy now lay in Abel's possession and the means to unlocking his true potential lay just in front of him.
Three years have passed since the death of his father, and Abel is now a senior at Karakura High. His life has become fully assimilated into routine of school, work, and his true work. His Quincy abilities had accelerated beyond measure in the latter years into the present, creating a modern Quincy Meister, damn near the youngest known to date in the Quincy time-line. He remains as a Splinter operative Quincy, hunting only small incursions of Hollow that dare prey into Karakura when the shinigami's gaze is not upon them, for his retribution would not result in the cleansing of their souls, only eradication.
RP Sample:
ANOTHER fucking day in this monotonous cycle of the same classes, the same lectures, faces, books, subjects, and the same ticking hands of clocks as they counted down to what seemed to be oblivion. Still, the blonde senior sat quietly in his rear corner desk, chin propped on palm, ear-bud secretly inserted into his hair-covered ear, and distant blue eyes fixated on the window just to his side as the instructor continued her monotone droning. A pencil weaved through his fingers in an elliptical pattern, tapping lightly on the unopened cover of his text in rhythm with the music that played through his ears. Just another moment of his own kind of meditation to pass the time through the rest of the period.
Exhaling a sigh from his pale lips, Abel gave into his body weight, pressing his back against his chair now, a slight jingle of the cross around his neck rang out as it hit against the other ear-bud that hung across his chest. Such a subtle sound eerily pierced the heavy air of uninteresting and boorish lecture, fixating the instructors attention towards the far corner of the room in an instant. "Deiderich! Music. Off!" Letting out silent curse, the boy's eyes caught the instructors as a forced smile graced his lips as he disdainfully removed his ear-bud from his ear, dropping it around his neck with a heavy sigh escaping his lips once again.
Minutes seemed to be hours until the bell rang out, signaling the end of the period, and the start of the lunch hour. As the rest of the students shuffled their way out, Abel instead lingered about as he once again inserted his ear-buds, giving a sarcastic grin towards the instructor as he passed by and out of the classroom. Weaving his way through the halls, lazy eyes shifted from side to side, catching the glances of the nameless students; the same as always as they whispered and gossiped amongst one another. A quiet laugh escaped his lips at them all as they stroked each other's ego more and more as the silent foreigner passed by them.
Pushing his way to the outside courtyard, Abel brought his arm up to shield his eyes from the glinting sunlight, scanning a quiet area to take refuge for his hour break. Catching sight of a shaded pavilion, Abel's stride took him towards the prospective location of relaxation, his hand gripping not a lunch bag or bento box, but a notebook instead. Sitting upon the wooden bench just inside of the pavilion, Abel's head nodded to the thumping music that played through his ear-buds, now much louder than what it would be during class. In between his legs rested the notebook, opened as his eyes scanned the various lines of transposed music as he scribbled small corrections an alterations to the key signatures or melodies.
A breeze caught his skin, bringing his eyes to scan the bustling student body, all seemingly mundane and unaware of the world around them. Pity boiled inside the pit of Abel's gut as the daunting knowledge of the truth lingered across his mind. The world as they knew it was falling once more into war, and only the most spiritually aware humans would know what was truly happening. "Perhaps..." His mind spoke. Perhaps it was for the better that they didn't know.
Was it better to be aware that death lingered around every corner, or blindly fall into its grasp without care?
