Appearance:
Nasake is a very handsome young man, his hair short but stylishly messy, his eyes so piercingly blue that the ocean itself would be confused to look at them. His standard black robes contain a few differences- for starters the hem lines are thickly embroidered with red stained leather- furthermore his robe is tied at his waist with a hefty red rope, but only drapes over his left shoulder. The right hand side of his body remains uncovered, leaving a pitch black tribal tattoo that runs from his right deltoid and down to the bottom of the tricep.
Personality: (This is the most important part of your application. Minimum of four paragraphs.)
Strengths:
- Nasake shows upmost confidence in himself, no matter what. This draws alot of attention to him, as such confidence rubs off on others.
- Nasake is modest and caring, and will always try to not hurt anybodies feelings. This probably comes from his human years, when he beat everybody at sport without being egotistical.
- The young soul reaper is charming, and good looking, due to years of attention. The looks are just good luck and good genes.
- He is always ready to show initiative, and go the extra mile. For example, in Nasakes early days, he was asked to fetch some paperwork as an errand for the fifth squad captain, and ended up collecting and delivering every captains paperworkd and delivering it in exchange for a small fee. As he was already on his way, he churned a small profit, which he donated to Seretei.
- He will help anybody, anytime, no matter what. This stems from his feeling of failure, two people close to him has died, and he was not strong enough to stop it.
Weaknesses:
- He puts others lives before his own, hence why he joined the academy.
- He harbours a lot of depression, about a lost friend, and a lost brother. This sometimes triggers random flashbacks that distract him in battle.
- He has been known to drink a little more than necessary, once again more than likely due to his depression. He drinks more when he reflects on his past.
- The world isn’t big enough to fit his confidence in, and that is why he is strong. Confidence is key to survival in any scenario. If in your head you have already succeeded, all you have to do is act it out.
Sealed Zanpakutō:
In Daisukes sealed form, the blade is encased in a red sheath, with a black dragon curling up around it, from the bottom of the hilt upwards. As the dragon nears the top of the hilt you see that the dragon has two heads, one sprouting left and one sprouting right. The left and right heads are in fact the hand guard that separates the handle from the blade. The end of the sheath is capped of with a silver crest, the bottom being beautifully tied with red cloth. Halfway up the sheath, is a golden oval raised from the surface of the wood, once again sealed off by to silver crests. Atop the golden plate is a design of red string that criss-crosses over the gold, the two colours complementing each other beautifully.
The blade is silver, with a golden plate that is half the blade deep and about a quarter of the blade long, starting only one inch from the hilt. Where the metal of the blade has been folded for the edge, you can see a circular pattern of lighter silver, where it was struck in production. The blade is extremely sharp, cutting silk in half if you were to glide it down onto the blade form above. It makes light work of hollows masks, bones and muscle tissue.
Zanpakutō Spirit:
[/center]
The boy named Daisuke that resides within Nasakes zanpakuto is in fact the spirit of his dead brother. Even in death, Daisuke was the only human memory he had left, which he always found strange, until he realized that his brother was ‘inside’ of him the whole time. Although identical in appearance to Nasake he does have some noticeable differences in attire and style from his time back in the world of the living.
His hair for starters is a leafy shade of green, that matches a T-shirt that he wears underneath a black robe. The robe is tied at the waist by a similar green belt, hosting a pouch on his right waist and a sword sheath on his left. He wears a long golden scarf that drapes around his neck and hangs over towards the right, and wears black sleeves that climb all the way up to the bottom of his shoulder. Around both of his arms drapes what appears to be two red snakes, but as he turns around you see that the snakes heads join at the back of his neck, forming the body of a dragon down his back.
Inner World:
Coincedently, Nasakes inner world is the very same lake where his brother Daisuke had drowned- but once again it housed some differences from reality. For starters, there is a small island that sits just off the shore only large enough to incorporate a small cherry blossom tree, and Daisuke that sits beneath it. The sunset is so low and close that it appears like the sky is on fire, giving everything in sight a red tint. Every now and then the sky is filled with a flock of thousands of black birds that fly over, and disappear at the horizon, only to reappear from the same place next time: It’s almost as if they are constantly flying around the whole world.
Shikai Incantation: Breathe, Daisuke.
Shikai Category: Elemental Release
Shikai Range: Immediate - Long
Shikai Description:
“Breath, Daisuke.” Two small words leading to an onslaught of reiatsu increase. As the red and black reiatsu leaks from Nasakes blade, the two dragons heads begin to climb up Nasakes arm, hissing and twisting themselves tightly around him, his zanpakuto molding itself to him. Fire sears from the end of the blade as the shikai release is completed, the shape of the blade only slightly changing, into a curved, samurai sword shape. Nasakes whole right arm is now encased in a red steel dragon, offering impenetrable defense of his sword wielding arm, and boasting the ability of being immune to disarming tactics. A red glow constantly surrounds him and his zanpakuto, licks of fire randomly kissing the air around him, striking fear into the hearts of those that oppose him.
Shikai Abilities:
The dual heads of the dragon handle come alive and crawl up Nasakes arm, bonding with him as they sink their teeth in around his forearm. Nasake can wield a very powerful fire technique, released from the edge of his blade in a slashing motion. When Nasake blocks an attack there is a chance that Daisuke will release a flare of flames, more for artistic prowess than damage dealing- similarly to the fact that in shikai, when nasake moves fast he leaves a flaming silhouette of himself where he did stand, this can act as a distraction first time, but once again it is mainly for its aesthetic properties.

History:
Childhood:
Childhood:
Born of one English man, and a Japanese father made life in England very difficult. The racist comments he received through out his childhood were vicious, and his mothers was even worse. Nasake remembers going to the park with his mother, and even then she was not free of people shouting abuse and stupid superstitions; for example: “A Japanese womens vagina is slit horizontally rather than vertically.” Nasake was five and even he knew that this was untrue, just because ones eyes have a different shape to what these people were used too, does not mean their genitals shared the resemblance.
It was one day after Nasake had got back from the sweatshop, his father and brother were home early. He was only eight years old at the time but he was forced to work for the food they ate. His mother and fathers money paid for their accommodation. He noticed that his father was in tears, which bewildered Nasake as he had never seen his father cry before. His mother had been killed, cut all over her body with a sharp object, probably a knife. Or perhaps a samurai sword as some form of racial statement.
His mothers family loved her very much, and Nasakes father could not just allow her death to go unknown. They sailed over to Japan, with his mother in a coffin and buried her in a quaint Japanese town, Karakura. He still wakes up to the screams of a women sometimes, although he is unaware that the memory is his nan crying when she saw her daughters dead body.
His mothers side of the family had enough money to put them up and take care of them, and so they did. They ended up not going back to England, there was nothing for them there; and so Nasake spent the rest of his life in Karakura town.
Teenage Years:
Nasake had lived through busy years for Japan, with the modernization of its schooling and weaponry. The samurai had been made redundant by the army, replaced with guns and canons. Nasakes grandfather was a samurai, and refused to let the art lose itself to time and gunpowder. He started teaching Nasake martial arts and swordplay when he was twelve years old, and he didn’t stop learning until the day he died.
He went to school like most other children in Karakura, always being at the top of his classes and sports teams, gaining a lot of attention for females, and attracting a lot of boys that wanted to be known as his friend. He was a modest child however, and would never accept anybody that bullied, ganged up on or put down anybody else.
His brother was always the same, but where Nasake was quietly confident, Daisuke would be loud to over compensate for his desire to be at the top. One of the main reasons Nasake refused to fail was in order to rival the reputation of his older sibling; refusing to become known as ‘Daisuke’s little brother.’
When he was twenty years old he witnessed his older brothers body being pulled out of Karakuras lake, pale and bloody, with knife wounds all over his body. Even in death Nasake remembered this day, and the connection they shared. A part of Nasake died that day, although he felt like his brothers soul had ‘entered’ him somehow. He changed a little, becoming more balanced rather than too loud or too quiet. He was a perfect balance between the perfect little angel and knowing when he could get away with something a little more naughty.
Death:
A couple of weeks after witnessing his brothers dead body, he caught sight of the sketches that were released by witnesses of the event. He soon recognized some of the suspects as members of his football team, people that called themselves friends. Jealousy had obviously taken over them, and that is why they had killed his brother.
He marched down to their hangout, and confronted all of them head on with just a knife. He was killed, beaten and stabbed to death in one act of stupidity. His family grieved greatly, however by this time Nasake was happy to die for the cause. Before he went down he had managed to stab the leader of the gang in the neck, causing him one of the most painful deaths imaginable as he bled to death through his throat.
Nasake doesn’t remember any of this now, although he has been confronted by a hollow that claimed to be the boy he had stabbed in the neck. He was very weak in comparison to the third seat shinigami, and was killed a second time. Good riddance.
Rukongai:
Nasake awoke in a strange place, unaware of what was going on. Based on the appearance, smell and general misery of the place, Nasake could only assume it was hell. He had no memory of past events. He knew he was twenty but he didn’t know how. He knew his name was Shirazu Nasake but he didn’t remember ever being called it. He did remember that he had a brother, and he remembered the day he was pulled out of Karakura river… A memory he was sure he’d rather forget.
It wasn’t until a few hours later, when he met a girl named Setsu, that he was informed that he wasn’t in hell… But a place known as Rukongai, in Soul Society. He first came across the girl as she bumped into him, after running away from some sort of merchant. She had stolen an apple. Nasake warned away the merchant and when he didn’t listen, he kicked his ass badly with skills he couldn’t remember gaining.
Nasake got very close to Setsu, some would call them girlfriend and boyfriend but all they knew was that they loved each other very much, and wished to spend eternity together. She was obsessed with the robed samurai known as shinigami, and she wanted to join their organization so desperately. They were called The Seretei, and they covered all bases of looking after the human world from evil spirits (hollows.) Not only that, but they ran the whole of soul society. She didn’t want to ever leave Nasake, but she wanted to join the soulreaper academy, and so Nasake trained with her, not wanting to stand in her way.
The only problem was that he had no interest in joining the squads, so he slacked off sometimes, persuading her to stay in bed rather than train, using the excuse of “We have eternity.” How wrong he was. They were out in the park, when they were attacked by a hollow. Nasakes life was saved when a soul reaper arrived, but too late to save Setsu’s. He had to watch her get consumed by the monster, and he couldn’t protect her. He would never forgive himself for that, and he promised to train everyday, join the academy and climb the ranks in her honor.
Academy:
Nasake passed all the basic combat tests to enter the academy, and when there he leaner da hell of a lot more. He learned how to draw his power from the spirit particles around the atmosphere. He was also given a katana, in promise that if he ever wanted to become a seated officer, he had to meet his swords inner spirit and then the sword would change to something that suited the spirit.
He was always a leader, even amongst the recruits. He hardly ever lost spars, but he did sometimes tie. Especially with a fellow recruit named Kenshou Ine. His rivalry with him was born, and a gap was partially filled in Nasakes heart. He couldn’t replace his brother, but he did have somebody to rival against.
He learned special elemental spells known as kido, and he loved it. He was very good at it in the academy, although that was no surprise to anybody. Not often came a situation that Nasake struggled to deal with; well, he would never let on that he struggled even to himself.
He learned a lot about honor, manners and etiquette, mainly from his own desire to impress the Gotei Six. One day he had a spar with a new student, a young man that claimed to be the best at all forms of combat. Nasake’s friends and teammates pitched him against this man in excitement, only for them to knock each other out. That was the first time Nasake had ever been knocked out since his time in soul society.
Meeting Daisuke:
He was knocked out for the first time ever, and it happened during combat. While gazing up at the stars twinkling around his eyes, time seemed to stand still. A man he recognized approached him through the darkness, and Nasake nearly swallowed his tongue. It looked like his brother! No, it was a clone of his brother, they were completely identical.
The stars and darkness slowly faded and the area around him turned into a lake front. It was Karakura lake, except there was an island in the middle of it. The island was tiny, only big enough to house a small cherry blossom tree and the boy that looked like Daisuke.
The sky was unlike anything he had ever seen before, almost appearing on fire the sunset was so close. Even the surrounding water appeared red, and the whole area was extremely hot. “This is your inner world Nasake. My world.”
“Your world… Who are you?” Nasake asked, bewildered at the mans voice, not only did he look just like Daisuke but he sounded like him too.
“You are not yet strong enough to know my name, and let me tell you, that would be a disaster for your body. I can tell you though, that I am your zanpakuto spirit, you are finally ready to wield a sword that your inner soul has developed. You are ready for me. When you awake, your katana will be different, so don’t be alarmed.”
Before Nasake had a chance to reply his inner world began to fade away, his vision refocusing on the grounds of the seretei. It was the young man he was fighting that was standing above him, ready to help him up. Nasake had something in his hand that he had not had when he fell unconscious, and all the students were crowding around him excitedly.
He looked down at his zanpakuto, red sheath with silver end pieces. Mid way along the sheath was a raised section, with a golden plated oval housed in more silver end pieces. The golden plate was thread over with red linen, the two colours complementing eachother nicely. The hand guard was in the form of two snakes heads, and where they joined at the neck was the body of a dragon, wrapping around the hilt of the sword, its black tail hanging off at the end.
Nasake heard the whispers of the students around him, some aware, some not aware of what the hell was going on. Nasake knew exactly what was going on, his spiritual pressure had grown high enough for him to enter the realm of the seated officers, and wield his own creation. So excited about the situation, Nasake put the Daisuke look-alike spirit to the back of his mind.
Seated Officer:
One week after discovering his zanpakuto, Nasake was entered into the sixth squad, and was put directly onto the open third seat. He was told the decision to put him so high was based on his morals, quick thinking and advanced fighting skills. He could sense a lot of resentment from some lower seated members, but more admiration.
The recruits that he was in charge of loved him, a lot of them his academy teammates that have not, and probably never would meet their zanpakuto spirits. Even so, they weren’t all that bad, and Nasake loved training them in the ways of sword play, kidou, and combat skills while knowing that he had the authority to back it up.
One night, on a patrol through Rukongai, he was confronted with a lot of hollows, and couldn’t take them all. He was about to die, when his zanpakuto spirit once again stepped forward.
Releasing Shikai:
“Nasake, why are you allowing yourself to die?” His spirit asked as he started to come to his senses. His inner world hadn’t changed one bit, if anything, it was hotter but nothing more of note than that.
“there is too many of them, I have given it my all.” He looked at the man speaking, and was instantly hit with the memory of his brother, ‘he must be my brother, but what if he is not? Would I offend him?’ Nasake questioned himself, deciding to stay quiet.
“Release me.”
“But I don’t know how!” Nasake half shouted, half begged for the answer. His brothers look-alike stared him in the eyes seriously, almost as if to search his mind for his thoughts.
“My name is Daisuke. I need to breath.”
The image around him faded away, regaining his consciousness in Rukongai- in the tight squeeze of a hollow ready to consume him. “Breath, Daisuke!” Nasake shouted as his body transformed into its shikai form. His zanpakuto shot out a blast of flames as the transformation was complete, burning the hands of the hollow. A she was dropped to the floor he landed comfortably on his feet, looking at his reflection through a metal swing set. It was amazing, and his reiatsu… wow, it was huge.
