Found a way for us to play online without it looking like a mess. We can even play commander. Just gotta download some junk, which you can find in a a big file here or separately here
1.) First get Microsoft's .NET 4.0 framework which you can through that second link. Then install the program.
2.) Make a folder and be sure to stick all your files in there. Don't move them after you've installed them in the program.
3.) Install OCTGN.
4.) Run the program and a menu will come up. Click manage installed games and then click install a new game. Click the magic the gathering Game Definition which you get here.
5.) Click install new cards and first upload the markers file.
6.) Then begin uploading the formats (like commander) and sets. After you've got them all then do the patches. This can be a bit tedious, but you need them all in order to play with people who do have them.
Using a magic set editor to make cards, we can even upload them using this and actually play them.
I see a Bleached Soul magic set in our future.
