So, I brought myself a tablet thing to draw on today. I'm still getting used to moving the pen thing around rather than my touchpad because they're surprisingly different. Regardless, I'm gunna try draw a bit more than I usually do and do so using Kubo's art style. If ever I reach a decent standard I'll happily take requests, but currently I'm having issues with just moving the cursor to where I want it to be. xD
I'm using this thread to track my progress and hopefully get some good criticism from you peeps, as most of you should be familiar with Kubo's style.
First picture is supposed to be Hibiki. Though he looks a little off, I'm quite proud that I managed to get him to look even remotely Hibi-Kubo-ish with my awful pen-wielding skills.
[EDIT#1] Picture number two is a retry of the first, now that I've got a bit of practice. It's a little scruffy though
[EDIT#2] Picture 2.1, neatened it up, sorted out dat chin and gave it a little color
[EDIT#3] Picture 3 is up, this one was a bit of a cop-out as it was originally intended to be larger. It was taking too much time and the results weren't worth it so I chose to crop it and leave it as it is. This picture is a lot closer to my original concept of Hibiki, before I took up Dark Mousy as his face-claim, even so I still haven't made a picture of him I'm 100% satisfied with.
[EDIT#4] And now for something a little more productive. I'm going to try drawing out a manga version of Hibiki's history. I hope to get faster at sketching this stuff out and get some experience with storyboarding. Furthermore, I'm going to try create it without speech, as to focus more upon drawing emotions, actions and events.
[EDIT#5] Well, it's about time I stopped messing around and scribbling over everything. So here's something I spent some time on.
You're more than likely bored of all the Hibiki's, so further suggestions are welcome. As I said, criticism is not only allowed, but encouraged.
